Rev. Aubrey T. White, affectionately known as “Tome” to his family and friends, was born on February 20, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, to Ms. Alice Jeanette Carpenter. From the beginning, Aubrey carried a warm spirit and a joyful presence that touched the lives of everyone he encountered.
In his early years, Aubrey and his brother, Dewaine, were lovingly raised by their aunt and uncle, who cared for them until their health declined. After their passing, the brothers spent time in several foster homes until they found a spiritual home at Oliver Hill Baptist Church. It was there, under the nurturing leadership of Pastor Goree & Mrs. Ora Lea Allen, that Aubrey’s faith deepened and his calling began to unfold.
Aubrey loved to sing, shout, and be a part of God’s program. Before he ever stepped into formal ministry, those around him recognized the anointing on his life and began calling him “Preacher.” He officially began his ministry under the guidance of Pastor Allen, and throughout the years, Aubrey became affiliated with several churches within the Dallas metroplex. He was always ready to serve, always ready to speak, and always ready to bring encouragement to God’s people.
Aubrey’s personality was full of humor and warmth, and he had a simple favorite pastime that brought him great joy—chicken. Fried, baked, broiled, grilled—if it was chicken, Aubrey was happy. His love for this favorite dish became a running joke among those who knew him well.
He attended school in Dallas and later worked many years as a security guard, a position in which he displayed his dependability, kindness, and strong work ethic.
Rev. Aubrey T. White was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Carpenter; his brother, Dewaine Price; and his adopted parents, Pastor and Mrs. Goree Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Vernita Allen-Ross; nephews, Marcus Price and Emeron Ross; niece, Monika “Shae” Lewis; special cousins, Ann, Ronald, Jerry, and Glen Strange; and his aunt, Hazel Nelson. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends. His special friends, Ms. Clara Robinson and Pastor Linda Thompson, held a dear place in his heart.
Aubrey’s life was a testament of endurance, faith, and love. Whether through a song, a sermon, or a simple smile, he poured joy and light into the world. His earthly journey has ended, but his legacy of faith continues to shine in the hearts of those blessed to know him.
May he rest in eternal peace
