Aurelio Cepeda Hernandez

Aurelio C. Hernández, a loving husband and father, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Susana Cepeda Hernández; his brother Jose Hernández; and his loving wife, Romana Juarez Hernández. Aurelio is survived by his children, Veronica Zamora (Felix), Alejandra Rodriguez, Aurelio Hernández (Graciela), Juan Hernández (Margie), Monica Kenemuth (Dennis) and Luis Hernández (Patricia); grandchildren, great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Aurelio was born on May 30, 1926 in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico. A blind date in 1954 quickly led to a marriage proposal to Romana Juarez, they spent 58 glorious years together, until her death on September 27, 2012. Aurelio had many roles in his life (husband, father, brother, "padrino" (godfather), uncle, and confidant) but the most cherished was that of "abuelito" to his 9 grandchildren (Andrea, Cristy, Marcos, Alejandro, Erica, Luis, Esmi, Rome and Julian) and 5 great grandchildren (Mila, Nathan, Natalie, Nicholas and Chloe). Aurelio was a parishioner of St. Monica Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends between 5:00-8:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm Friday, at Calvary Hill Mausoleum South Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel. Entombment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
