

Bailey Henry Jones, Jr., passed away peacefully on September 30th after a long illness. He was born in Greenville, TX on May 21st, 1928 to Bailey Henry and Stella Rae Arnold Jones and preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Eldon, Dorothy (Dot) and Mary.
Bailey (BH or BJ to his friends and family) graduated from Greenville High School in 1945. He earned his degree from the Dallas Institute-Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1954 and was a practicing funeral director and mortician for more than 50 years.
He began working in the funeral business as a boy doing odd jobs and in his teens began riding in the ambulance service, where he gained a lifelong interest in paramedics and fire engines.
He worked at funeral homes in Greenville, Hillsboro and Mineral Wells before beginning a new career as a casket wholesaler. In the 1960's in Mineral Wells he was a salesman for the Pine Bluff Casket Company, then after moving to Mesquite, joined the Rex-Metallic casket company in the 1970's. He formed his own company in 1975. In the 1980's he returned to funeral directing at Restland Funeral Home where he retired in 1993.
He was beloved by both his family and his many clients and customers.
Bailey is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dolores Quevedo Jones, seven children - Becky Jones Lynch and husband J.P., Rebecca Cortez Zwillenberg and husband Peter, Pamela Bennett, Constance Cortez, Bailey Henry (Hank) Jones III and partner Caleb Huntsberry, Al Cortez and wife Cindy, and Chrissy Cortez-Mathis and husband Sean, as well as 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, October 4, 2013 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX.
