

Barbara was born on June 28, 1936, in Santa Anna, Texas and grew up in Denison, Texas. Known for her beauty and grace, Barbara approached life with purpose and joy. She lived a full and vibrant life marked by generosity, friendship, and devotion to her family.
A passionate philanthropist, Barbara was deeply involved in numerous charitable organizations. She was an active member of the Texas Kidney Foundation, Friends for the Center for Brain Health, Mes Amies, Dallas Children’s Theater, and served with dedication at the Center for Vision Loss. In recognition of her lifelong commitment to service, she received the National Philanthropy Award from the American Foundation for the Blind in New York City in 2010.
Barbara found great pleasure in spending time with friends and family, dining, dancing, and traveling the world. Her greatest pride and joy were her granddaughters, earning her the esteemed title of “GranB”. She was especially delighted to continue the legacy as a great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brice; son, Larry Dale Ireland Jr.; daughter, Deborah Lynn Ireland; parents, Robert Harold Williams and Tressie Juanita Williams; and brother, R. H. (Bobby) Williams, Jr.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tressie Ireland McGrew (David); three cherished granddaughters, Hannah McGrew Johnson (Branden), Molly McGrew Voelker (Sarah), and Kelsey Ireland-Phillips (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Kinley Paige Johnson, Kade Conrad Johnson, and Kayson David Johnson; sister, Samantha Margaret Hatfield; and many adored nieces and nephews.
Barbara will be remembered for her vibrant personality, laughter, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
It is with sincere gratitude that we thank Sovereign Hospice, all of the caregivers from Gracious Healthcare 247, and most importantly, Thabi and Patience for their dedication and loving care given to “Ms. B”.

Services will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest in Dallas on Tuesday, January 27th with a visitation beginning at 9:15 a.m. and a service following at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will follow. In keeping with Barbara’s joyful spirit, Tressie and family would like to cordially invite all who knew and loved Barbara to a reception at her beloved apartment.
