Barbara Woolf Devereux passed away peacefully in her sleep 2/08/2023 after five years of struggle against progressive supranuclear palsy. Barbara was born 7/7/1952. Her parents Jack and Orien Woolf preceded her in death and she is survived by her husband Julien Devereux, her daughters Annie Devereux and Michelle Devereux and her husband Max Juren. Barbara lived on White Rock Lake most of her life. She was in the first fourth grade graduating class at Lamplighter School and then went to Hockaday. She attended and graduated from Newport School for Girls in 1970. She attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas where she met her husband of 49 years. Both were from Dallas and returned after graduation and lived in the house where her mother was raised. Barbara worked in retail florist shops and the Cheese Shop until she had her first daughter. She was a devoted and loving mother who spent lots of time with both daughters having fun and teaching them by example how to be kind, polite, generous and responsible. She also helped her parents as they aged to manage their affairs. Barbara loved collecting. She has a doll, seashell, mineral, fairy, stain glass and small decorative box collection. They provide much conversation and delight for her and friends who visit.
