into the arms of her Savior on October 14, 2025. Her family finds comfort knowing that she
is now home, resting in the presence of the Lord she loved so deeply. A lifelong Dallas
native, Barbara lived a life filled with love, laughter, faith, and grace.
Born June 7, 1937, and raised in the Park Cities, she attended Highland Park schools and
The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a proud Kappa Alpha Theta and met the
love of her life, Marc Stewart. They married in 1959 at the Lutheran Church in Dallas and
shared 66 wonderful years together.
Barbara’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of Park Cities
Presbyterian Church, she began each day in prayer and service to others. She was active
leading or attending Bible study — at Church and in her community.
Known for her sharp wit and quick humor, Barbara brought laughter and warmth wherever
she went. Her generosity was boundless—she gave freely of her time, talent, and resources
to causes she cared deeply about. A lifelong volunteer, Barbara dedicated herself to the
Dallas Junior League, The Crystal Charity Ball, Hope Cottage, The Red Cross, and the
Dallas Society for Crippled Children, where she found deep purpose in serving others,
especially children. She spent years devoted to rocking babies in the nursery of Park Cities
Presbyterian Church.
Barbara had a deep love for art, travel, tennis, and friendship. Her adventures abroad as a
young woman shaped her lifelong curiosity and appreciation for beauty, while her “Tuesday
Lunch Group” of dear friends became one of her life’s great joys. She delighted in
entertaining, especially during the holidays, when her home glowed with lights, laughter,
and family gathered around the table she so thoughtfully adorned.
She is survived by her loving husband Marc Stewart; her daughter Emily Vickery; and her
son-in-law, Michael Vickery; her son Eric Stewart; and her Daughter-in-law, Diana Stewart.
She will be sadly missed by her cherished grandchildren Sam and Sara Stewart; Taylor
Davenport and wife Rebecca, and great-grandchild Allison Grace Davenport; She was
preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leonora Lang, sister Carol Collins and
Brother-In-Law, Michael Collins, Sr. and nephew Michael Collins, Jr.
Barbara’s life reflected one of her favorite verses:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” —Psalm 27:1
A service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held at Park Cities Presbyterian Church on
October 27, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park Cities
