

On June 26, 1955 a baby girl was born to Calhoun Westmoreland and Bertha Payne Westmoreland in Plainview, TX, they named her Bertha Louise Westmoreland. A few years later the family moved to Amarillo, TX were Bertha attended Amarillo Independent Schools (Horace Mann Junior School & Palo Duro High School).
She started a lovely family and was united in holy matrimony to William Charles Blaylock. To this union two children were born, Chanette Renee and Antwon Dawon. The family settled on the United States Army base in El Paso, TX. Bertha moved back to Amarillo a year later. After thirteen years this marriage dissolved. September 8, 1976 a baby boy was born, Jamar Gregory.
Bertha was a very hard worker; she worked many years in the home healthcare field. Bertha’s hard work ethics carried over into the church where she volunteered. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove, TX. She also attended the House of Asham, where she was baptized in 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents Calhoun Westmoreland and Bertha Payne Westmoreland, six brothers: Cal Jr., David, Ernest, John, Weldon, Howard, and four sisters: Ruby Thomas, Alma Hall, Velma Foster and Betty Joyce Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Chanette Blaylock of Dallas, TX, Antwon Ray (Adrian) of Rowlett, TX, one son, Jamar Blaylock (Bobbie) of Amarillo, TX, two brothers, A.L. Westmoreland (Gladys) of Amarillo, TX, James E. Westmoreland (Robin) of Amarillo, TX Grandchildren, Deonte Blaylock of Dallas,TX, Taylor Ray of Dallas, TX, Alontre’ Blaylock of Houston, TX, Aaliyah Ross of Houston, TX, Bryson Ray of Houston, TX, Jalecia Love of Houston, TX, Brandon Ross “AJ” of Dallas, TX, Great Grandchildren, Jayden Ross of Dallas, TX, Mykel Blaylock of Houston, TX, Marqua Blaylock of Houston, TX
