“Love Is”…Ida "Bet" Stewart, entrusted to us, for a specific time here on earth, until aged 70, peacefully returned home, on January 3rd, 2024. A devout servant of the Lord, Bet dedicated her life to her faith and sharing the love of Jesus Christ with others.
Born in Montgomery, Alabama, to David and Bettie McCrary, Bet moved to Dallas in 1960 where she attended WT White and performed on the drill team. After graduation she attended SMU where she continued to growing her talents, including the gift of artistic design, ultimately resulting into her own printing and calligraphy company, “Alpha-Bet.”
While entrusting everything in her journey to Jesus, she was married for 27 years to John A Stewart, with Love, until her last day. They cherished their travels to numerous countries, creating memories around the world. Her love for her entire family was unmatched.
Bet is survived by her husband, John; her mother, Bettie McCrary; brother, Keller McCrary (Jamie); her two children, Betsy Kroeplin (Jeff) and J.D. Marshall (Sarah); her stepchildren, Angela Hudson (Clay), Emily Clark (John-Isaac), and Michael Stewart (Brittany); along with thirteen beloved grandchildren.
No doubt she is walking with our Creator now, with little children all around her, rejoicing in the presence of the King.
The family extends their gratitude to friends, Ventanas nurses, and special caregivers Mekides, Bebe, and Helen for their support and kindness throughout Bet’s life. To read this obituary online, visit Sparkman-Hillcrest.com.
