

Betty Maurice Burton Gaddy, age 85, passed away on February 10, 2024, in Garland, Texas. She was born on February 17, 1938, in Dallas, Texas to William Burton and Mabel Burton Merritt. Betty was raised in Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1956. She married Terry Gaddy in 1957 and the couple had 4 children. She was an insurance worker, school cafeteria manager, and her most cherished jobs were a wife, a mother and grandmother a great grandmother.
In her spare time Betty enjoyed pouring her love for her friends and family into her cooking and baking. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and welcoming woman to everyone, family or stranger.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, her daughter Lori Gaddy, son-in-law Mel Lonon, and stepmom Bea Burton "Momma Bea".
She is survived by her husband Terry Gaddy, daughters Terri Kelley, Karen Lonon (Dennis) Fletcher, and Nanette Hyatt; grandchildren, Brandon (Lynette) Dunston, Hunter Lonon, Taylor Kelley, Kristen Kelley, Micah (Madison) Hyatt, Dalton (Hannah Pardue) Hyatt, Fallyn Hyatt, stepsister Sandra Todd; and great-grandchildren Dillon Dunston, Maddox Hyatt, Lola Kelley, Maebry Hyatt, Marlowe Hyatt, Marley Carter, and Oakley Hyatt.
Betty also like to sing in the church choir, go to East Dallas Choral Club, sing at the state fair, and was a award winning cook and baker.
