Betty Lynch Parker passed away April 18, 2016. She died peacefully after an extended illness. Betty was 85 years old and resided in Fort Worth, Texas at the time of her death. She was born Betty Jo Gentry on September 25, 1930 in Posey, Texas. She graduated from Slaton High School in 1948 and went on to attend Texas Tech University before beginning her career in accounting. She was the first woman to be promoted to a management position at East Texas Motor Freight Company. Later, she became Vice President of Liberty Tex Pack. Her most recent church home was Christ Chapel Bible Church of Fort Worth. She played the piano, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday School throughout her life. She served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Irving Symphony for several years. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Patty Willcox, Myke and Steve Holt, and Lea Ann and Sandy Schor, eight grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Amy Willcox, Nathan and Adrienne Willcox, Peter and Paige Willcox, Catherine Willcox, Hannah and Colin Murchison, Holly and Justin Hennig, Ashley Schor, Katy and Josiah Zimmerman, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Eulyses and Eunice Gentry, four brothers, Claude Gentry, Dorsey Gentry, Tommy Gentry, and George Gentry, and son-in-law, Gary Willcox.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at Christ Chapel Bible Church located at 3701 Birchman Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76107, on Friday, April 29, 2016 in the Chapel at 2 p.m. A private graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service.
