What a blessing that the world was touched by your beautiful soul! And now Heaven is illuminated by your radiant spirit! Mrs. Betty, I feel grateful to have reunited with you after all these years, though I wish it were under more joyful circumstances. Your warm presence was something I always looked forward to, and your kindness to my sister and me was truly inspiring. Your wisdom has stayed with me, and I even drew upon it when I opened my own sign shop with my employees - remember that wonderful sign you created? "Your momma doesn’t work here" Clean up after yourself! Your legacy of love, wit, and tenacity will forever be etched in my heart! I always admired your tireless spirit and how you touched the lives of everyone around you. Over time, you became like a loving granny to me! To Ken and family, please know that I would have been honored to be there to celebrate Mrs. Betty’s life; I understand that you may have wanted to keep it intimate, and that’s perfectly okay. Ken please know you, your family & ffe will always be loved and cherished by me forever and I am grateful for everything and the found memories we shared.

Mrs. Betty was a member of my church for many years.  When she had to move into a nursing facility, I had the pleasure to visit with her and listen to her stories from time to time.   I never knew where I might find Mrs. Betty, zooming around the hallways in her motorized wheelchair, or in the dining room waiting for the monthly birthday celebrations hoping chocolate cake would be served!!  She was always talking about her wonderful family especially the lastest great great grandchild, showing me pictures on her automated photo gallery.   She would always bring a smile to my face as I would kiss her goodbye and she'd say come again, and bring me some snacks!!  I know her Savior greeted her with open arms on Wednesday as she walked into Heaven with joy.

I feel blessed that I got to know Mrs. Betty Thornton.  I definitely will miss her as I know so many others will where she lived.  My sincere condolences to the family.
