Beverly Jane Ahlstrom

Bev married Richard Mather Ahlstrom on April 6, 1957, in Mentor, Ohio, and they shared 60 years of marriage until his passing on July 13, 2017.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Richard Ahlstrom (Megan) of Walland, Tennessee, and Michael Christopher Ahlstrom (Freda Lynne Ahlstrom) of San Antonio, Texas.

She was a proud grandmother to Justin Mather Ahlstrom (Darby Blagg) of San Antonio, Texas; Jared Michael Ahlstrom (Leigh McBride) of Dallas, Texas; Freda McKinley Isabelle Ahlstrom of Lubbock, Texas; and Garrett Thomas Ahlstrom (Courtney) of Walland, Tennessee.

Bev was an active and devoted member of her community. She was involved in Bent Tree Country Club, Northwood Women’s Club, a garden club, a supper club, and a book club. She also attended Roaring Lambs Ministries and participated in her women’s Bible study.

She found great joy in traveling the world, including spending two years living in Colombia, and later made her home in Texas in 1979. She especially loved visiting the Texas Hill Country. Bev enjoyed going to the theater, cooking for those she loved, hosting gatherings, playing games with her family, and sharing lunches with close friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and deep love for her family and community.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225, US, on April 9, 2026, at 11:45AM immediately followed by a reception.
