Billy Wayne Wilson

Born January 4, 1931 in Lamesa, Texas to Robert and Drucilla Wilson. He stepped out of his “pick-up” truck and into “Glory”, September 8, 2016. He served his country on the Air National Guard for eight years, being honorably discharged in February of 1962. Billy was a life-long “trucker” for fifty years. He finally retired for good at the age of 70. He was a devoted husband who married his childhood sweetheart. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed traveling the USA with all of us. He loved family, camping and Bluegrass music, usually managing all at once. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cumby, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irma Jeanette Wilson and his children, Janet Wilson, Doyle and wife Kelly Wilson, Elizabeth and Husband Clarence Horner Jr., Brian and his wife Lisa Wilson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers, Bob and his wife Dorothy Wilson, Kenneth and his wife Dixie Wilson, Along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Matt Hitchcock, Kyle and Colin Forrest, Terry Wilson, Chris, Jeremy, Jarrod and Justin Phillips, Brian Wilson Jr.

Officiating the service will be Pastors, Jim Moore of Cornerstone Baptist Church and his nephew, Shawn Webb of The Foundry Church.
