He attended James Madison High School in Dallas, Texas. After High School he started working in a Construction Business and later he started driving trucks. Years later Edward moved to Greenville, Tx where he met Brenda, later, they joined hands in Holy Matrimony and moved to Tyler, TX. During their years in Tyler they met Sister Maude Wright. Edward went to a Revelation Seminar, studied the Three Angels Message and was convicted by The Holy Spirit and was Baptized at Sharon Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tyler, Tx by Pastor Truman S. Bryant. Bro Payton served at Sharon as an Elder and he Preached the Word to God's people. He was supervisor over the Church kitchen, and was Head Security, he was a faithful servant until his health failed. He was well known at Sharon as a very quiet, extremely nice person. He was called Bishop because of the lil cap he wore on his head :)
