Avis de décès
Bonnie R. Goodson
10 décembre 1929 – 18 mars 2023

Bonnie Rich Goodson, 93 years young, of Dallas, Texas, passed away March 18, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 10, 1929, to Leighton William Rich and Estelle Strattman Rich.
Bonnie received a Bachelor’s degree from Centenary College of Louisiana where she also sang in their well known choir. She worked as a secretary for Hunt Oil Company. Bonnie married John Alvin Goodson on May 29, 1959. She is survived by her children Melissa Goodson Kea and son-in-law Luther “Chip” Kea, Sandra Goodson, stepson Jerry Lynn Goodson, grandchildren Caroline Goodson, Laura Goodson and Kristen Kea, and great-grandchildren Maeve and Cormac Pinkerton. She is preceded in death by her husband John Alvin Goodson, her parents Leighton and Estelle Rich, her brothers Charles Rich and Harold Rich and her sister Catherine Rich Marchman.
Bonnie was a faithful wife and mother. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. She loved dogs and was met in heaven by her faithful Labrador Retrievers Merry and Harley. She was a faithful member of Park Cities Baptist Church for over 60 years. She joyously served her church and Lord as a Sunday School teacher to 5 year olds for many years. She then spent the remainder of her time shepherding toddlers in their nursery. So many children were touched by her love and service.
Bonnie lived in the Encore neighborhood for around 30 years where she served their homeowners’ association and had many wonderful neighbors and friends. She joined the P.E.O. sisterhood on May 6, 1993. She loved her chapter and served in several positions as an officer. However, she most loved serving energetically on the scholarship committee helping deserving young women reach their dreams. She also traveled with her daughter Sandy (Sandra) and was Sandy’s most enthusiastic cheerleader at Sandy and her dogs dock diving competitions.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in Ellis Chapel of Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Hwy., Dallas, followed by a reception downstairs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie’s name to either the American Parkinson Disease Association (www.apdaparkinson.org) or the P.E.O. Scholar Awards (checks may be made to P.E.O. Chapter CQ and mailed to Mary Nafziger, 17808 Cedar Creek Canyon Drive, Dallas, TX, 75252).
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Sparkman-Hillcrest.com for the Goodson family.
