

Bonnie Hanna Story, 93 of DeSoto, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughter and caregivers on September 8, 2023. She suffered with Dementia/Alzheimer's and due to a fall in May of 2023 that broke her left hip which Bonnie never recovered.
Bonnie was born on December 30, 1929 in Anson, Texas to parents Lee and Edith Ford. At the age of 3 they moved to Dallas. Bonnie accepted Christ as her Lord at the age of 9. At 19 she married Robert Hanna and they had 2 children Deborah Jo Hanna and David Lee Hanna.
She had a passion to learn to play the piano and one day Robert surprised her with a piano. She was a self-taught pianist who played for her church, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School classes, and had a fervent prayer life. Bonnie prayed 30 years for Robert's salvation, and her prayers were answered when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Robert went to be with the Lord October 21,1978.
Bonnie met Leonard Story July 1986. They were introduced by a mutual church friend, dated for a year and married October 1987. He was a admired singer for Hillcrest until his death in 2006.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter Deborah Moore; son David Lee Hanna and wife Babs; step-son John David Story and wife Lynette, granddaughter Shauna Mendoza and husband Gabriel; grandson Justin Janacek and wife Sandi, 4 step grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as 3 great-great grandchildren.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents and both spouses.
In lieu of flowers it was Bonnie's wish that donations would be made to Alzheimer's Association. ALZDALLAS.org
