

Brenda Joyce McPherson was born on June 23, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the union of Sylvia and Clarence Williams Jr. She was the third child of six children born to this union. She attended Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, where she met and later married Robert Earl McPherson Jr. whom she lovingly and often referred to as her “Boo”. They shared 52 years of marriage until his passing.
Brenda was a loyal employee of Northern Trust Bank for twenty plus years until she retired. After which, because of her desire to stay active, she worked for several more years at the Desoto Public Library. She loved traveling, playing games with friends and spending time with her family.
Brenda accepted Christ as her personal Lord and savior at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral guidance of Reverend Henry Woodson. Brenda and Robert later joined Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor Tony Evans. She continued her service at Hillcrest Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mike Simmons Sr.
Brenda will be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit, infectious smile and devotion to family.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Robert McPherson Jr., her father: Charles Marsh Jr., her parents: Sylvia and Clarence Williams Jr., two brothers: Clarence "Butch" Williams III, and Bruce "Batman" Williams, sister: June Hinton and granddaughter: Delana LaRae Fantroy.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved children: Robert Jerome McPherson and wife Chanette (CC), Shannon "Jan" Fantroy, Jason McPherson, Dana Mathews, Shanya Harper, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a sister: Patricia Taylor, a brother: Rickey Williams and a sister-in-law: Hazel Foster, two aunts and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, located at 6300 South R.L., Dallas, TX, 75232, on November 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled to take place at the same venue on November 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A committal service will be conducted at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX, 75211, on December 5, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
