Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and rooted in Dallas, Texas, Brian L. Proctor was a man whose spirit lit up every room he entered. The cherished son of Linda Coleman Proctor and Earl Lee Proctor, Brian lived a life full of laughter and love.
From an early age, Brian’s spirit was undeniable. He joined New Generation Baptist Church in Lancaster, Texas, where his faith was planted and nurtured. He attended Lancaster High School, where he made lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. At the time of his passing, Brian was working for the City of Dallas, showing up every day with that same dedication and heart he gave to everything in life.
Brian never met a stranger. If you crossed his path, you were going to laugh, you were going to eat, and you were going to feel loved. His quick wit, his endless jokes, and that big ol’ heart made him the life of the party. Whether he was telling stories on the porch or manning the grill like a true BBQ king, Brian gave you something to remember. And when it came to BBQ, Brian didn’t play. He was a master of the pit, known for his ribs, brisket, and chicken.
He survived by his mother Linda Proctor (Arlington, TX), his father Earl Lee (Tonya) Proctor (DeSoto, TX). Also leaves behind his three loving sisters: LaVonda Gray (Houston, TX), Natasha Williams (Arlington, TX), and Alisha Proctor (Arlington, TX).
His greatest joy came from being a father to his three beautiful daughters, who survive him: Brianna Larhia Proctor (Rowlett, TX), Skylar Nichole Proctor (Fort Worth, TX), and Kellis Jean Marie Proctor (Dallas, TX).
He is also survived by his cherished cousins Nada (Prosper, TX) and Charlie Earl (Dallas, TX), his friend Bridgett (Dallas, TX), and a devoted extended family of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other cousins, and friends. Each of them shared in the joy, laughter, and memories that made his life so meaningful.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Cedric Nixon and Lamina Nixon, and by all of his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Brian’s legacy lives on in the laughter he sparked, and the love he poured into everyone around him. He was a son, a brother, a father, a friend and a light that will never dim.
Rest easy, Brian. Your light still shines.
