

He was born May 12, 1928, in Dallas, TX to Burton Elmer Perry Ewing and Jessie Crystal Ewing.
Burt was raised in Dallas, TX and graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1945.
Burt enlisted into the Navy Reserve from 1945 to 1952. He served as a Boatswain Mate during World War II and during the Korean War. Burt got to travel the world in support of his country.
Burt is preceded in death by his brother Richard Ewing, sister Lonnie Cotton, wives: Margaret Kamperman and Jeanet Stevenson, and stepdaughter Lisa Compagna.
Burt is survived by his sister Joan Compagna, sons: Scott and Grant Ewing, stepson Larry Hebel, daughters: Lindsey and Courtney Ewing, grandchildren: Cassie, Amber, Brandon, Erin, Lauren, Isaiah, Jayden, and Avery, greatgrandchild: Grayson
After leaving the military, Burt worked for Proctor and Gamble for 41 years. He was an accomplished wood worker who loved to build furniture for his family and others. Upon his retirement, family became his primary focus. Burt always had children at various ages throughout his retirement years and said it kept him young. His love for kids and providing a safe and secure environment was always a huge part of who he was. Burt loved to travel and take road trips in his RV. He fondly remembered family vacations and sights he had seen and loved.
Burt touched so many hearts throughout his life. When asked how things were, he always replied, “Fair to Middlin”. Whether called “Pops” or “Poppa” or just “Dad”, his home was always filled with love. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
A visitation for Burton will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
