Carl Gough, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family. Born in Cooper, Texas, Carl graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1955. He went on to serve his country in the Army Reserves from 1962 to 1966, where he earned an Honorable Discharge, a Good Conduct Medal, and was recognized as a Rifle Marksman.
Carl spent much of his career working as a computer operator for the City of Dallas. He was a man of discipline and dependability, known for his reserved nature and his unique way of showing love and care to those closest to him.
A devoted man of faith, Carl was baptized in the Church of Christ, where he once served as a deacon during his first marriage. His love for the church and its community was a consistent and meaningful part of his life.
Carl was married to Reba and together they had two children, Greg and Stacie. Later, he shared a deep and enduring love with his wife Gayle Hampton Gough—together, they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in November 2025. Gayle and Carl had one son, Brandon, who was married to Maria and together had one child, Emma.
Carl’s family was his pride and joy. He is survived by his son Greg and daughter-in-law Gwen, his three grandchildren Ashley, Abbey, and Emma, and three great-grandchildren Harper, Everleigh, and Mason. He was preceded in death by his daughter Stacie, whose loss he bore with faith in her place in paradise. Carl also experienced early loss in life, losing his father at the age of four—an event that shaped the quiet resilience he carried throughout his life.
Those who knew Carl knew that he loved deeply, even if in his own quiet way. He found purpose in serving others and strength in his faith. His family takes comfort knowing that he is now with the Lord and reunited with loved ones in paradise.
A visitation for Carl will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
