

She was born January 22, 1942 to George and Helen (Bridgeman) Schmidt in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Levittown, PA. She graduated in 1961 with a diploma in cosmetology along her teacher certification.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, Larry, and moved to Dallas, TX.
For over 50 years Carol kept the women in the Casa View area of Dallas looking their best with the latest hair styles.
She was a dedicated member of White Rock Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School.
Carol was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Roy Stanley Chapter 1087. During her many years of service she was honored when elected to serve as Worthy Matron.
After retiring her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Carol also loved travelling around the United States and abroad.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and sister Helen Hunton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Larry W. Pennington, daughter Kimber Pennington Ritschel (Mercy), daughter Kristine Pennington Scarborough (Marty), granddaughter Kandyce Nutt (Preston), grandson Kyle Scarborough (Elaine), Casey Scarborough (Allison), great-granddaughter Scarlett Nutt, great-grandson Emmitt Scarborough, step sister Janet Steetman, step brother Eric Stocker, niece Patricia Bozzo, nephew David Gardner, nephew Steve Gardner, nephew Mark Avery, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Carol will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
