July 4, 1940 – September 27, 2021
Carole Jan Clements was born in Arbala, Texas, on July 4, 1940. She was the much-loved daughter of the late Elton J. and Eileen Penny. Carole was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2021, at the age of 81.
Carole was raised in Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1958. She held a variety of positions with the City of Dallas as a valued city employee, to include, Dallas Police Dispatch, the Water Utilities Department, and as a Municipal Court Warrant Section Supervisor until her retirement in 1995. While working with Dallas Police Dispatch, Carole met her husband-to-be Curtis, then a Dallas police motorcycle officer, and they married December 16, 1972. Carole was a woman of great faith who enjoyed ministering to others in word, deed, and song. Recognizing that people, ALL people, need the Lord, she and Curtis joined the Christian Motorcyclists Association in 1979 and together with Curtis preaching and Carole singing they brought the Good News of Jesus Christ to bikers at biker rallies across the United States for 34 years. She was the driving force in organizing a weekly Sunday Service for seniors no longer able to attend their local churches at Champions Cove, a senior living residential complex, where she and Curtis made their retirement home in Duncanville, Texas. That ministry began in earnest in 2010 and is still going strong today!
Carole is survived by her husband, Curtis Clements, her daughter, Lisa Kay Behrend and son-in-law Eddie Behrend, her grandchildren Crystal Mulkey, Joe Mulkey, Adam Mulkey, and her great grandchildren Curtis Ray Castaneda and Brandon Castaneda. While loved and missed on this side of Heaven, we know that we know we will see her again when we, too, are called home to be with the Lord.
Visitation for Carole will be held Monday, October 4, 2021, from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. with the Memorial Service following at 2 P.M. at Laurel Land & Singing Hills Funeral Home, 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Carole’s honor to Duncanville Outreach Ministry (a non-profit food bank/social service), 202 E. Cherry Street, Duncanville, Texas 75116 or your local food bank.
