

Born September 19, 1945 to Erline and D. O. Tomlin in Amarillo, Texas. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend died November 12, 2015 after a catastrophic stroke. Carolyn had lived in Dallas during her school years and adult life. She worked in residential real estate. She was a member of Dallas Woman’s Club, Dallas Country Club, Marianne Scruggs Garden Club, DAR, Fact to Fiction Book Club and was close to her Yada sisters of Horseshoe Bay. Surviving in addition to her husband, Dr. Martin “Buddy” Hurst, are her daughters Sharolyn Hurst Manning and her husband Bill of Dallas, Wendy Hurst Schmidly and her husband Jason of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mendy Hurst Martin of Allen, Texas; eight cherished grandchildren: Cash Manning, Caverly Manning, John Michael Martin, Molly Martin, Henri Schmidly and her triplet brothers Eli, Ike and Max Schmidly; one brother Dan Tomlin and his wife Judy; sister-in-law Lee Waters and her husband Dr. Sam Waters; many dearly loved nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2015 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75205 where Carolyn’s grandfather, A. D. Schuessler, was a founding member.
