Carolyn Martin

Carolyn Yvonne Martin, age 74, went to be with our Lord and Savior June 17th, 2025. She was born in Dallas on April 6th 1951 to Carrol Durwood Groom and Molly Roberson. Carolyn was raised in Dallas where she graduated from W. W. Samuel High School in 1969. She later attended and then graduated from Draun Business College.

Carolyn married Sammie Jedlicka on November 22nd, 1969. They had two children together: Jennifer Evon Jedlicka and Jeffrey Aaron Jedlicka. Later on in her life, she met her final soulmate Anthony Martin at their 25 year high school class reunion. They married soon after, and would have celebrated 30 years together on July 29th.

Carolyn worked as a retail specialist for over 32 years starting at Montgomery Wards at Big Town Mall and then at Foley's Department Store at Town East Mall. Carolyn enjoyed different hobbies throughout her life. She loved to spend time outdoors gardening in her flower beds. Carolyn also loved all sorts of games. Her favorite recently being "Deal or No Deal". Family time would include card games such as Gin-Rummy Concentration, and Spades.

Carolyn also had a love affair with CSI, NCSI and Grey's Anatomy TV shows, which she re-watched several times!

Carolyn loved music and excelled in church hymns and playing the piano. She loved to decorate her home, and that included various themes, bright colors, and throw pillows. She also loved to travel to different states and places.

Carolyn loved feeding seagulls at the beach. She also loved being surrounded by nature in Oklahoma at Falconhead or Lake Murray with her family.

Carolyn will be remembered by her family as a loving Christian woman, who was dedicated to her husband Anthony, and her children Jennifer and Jeffrey. She will be remembered as a wonderful Mimi who had a big heart full of love, an infectious laugh, and a fun loving personality.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents: Carrol Durwood Groom and spouse Charlie Groom Molly Roberson and spouse Jim Roberson

Carolyn is survived by: her husband Anthony Martin, her daughter Jennifer Jedlicka, her son Jeff Jedlicka and spouse Leslie Jedlicka, grandchildren- Mollie Cooper, Caiden Cooper, Hayden Jedlicka, and Logan Jedlicka, her brother Gary Groom and spouse Janey Groom, her sister in laws- Kay Fitzgerald and Paula Stembridge, her nieces Tonya Hickerson and spouse Steve Hickerson; Ashton Patterson and Spouse Josh Patterson; Kim Stump and Spouse Bryan Stump Her nephews- Nick Rosato and spouse Marci Rosato; James Oliver; Kevin Stembridge, as well as many other family members

and friends.

A celebration of life for Carolyn will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, followed by a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
