

Christopher Rodriguez, beloved, hard-working, humorous, devoted, passionate, gentle, and wise, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on May 5, 1937, in Dallas, Texas, Christopher grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his life, he was known for his dedication and love for his family and community.
Christopher's early life was marked by a variety of jobs, including working as a bricklayer, a pressman printing voting ballots, and a delivery driver for an architecture metals company. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Dallas chapter, and attended St. Edwards Catholic Church.
In his retirement, Christopher spent his time working on his house and cars, teaching his grandchildren valuable life lessons about hard work, love, and respect. He was a passionate sports fan, enjoying baseball, softball, and supporting teams such as the Chicago Bulls, Cubs, Bears, and the New York Yankees. He also had a fondness for the Seattle Seahawks and would have loved to see them win the Super Bowl this year.
Christopher is survived by his beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Angel & Gissette Rodriguez; Christina Socorro Rodriguez, Olivia Marie Rodriguez, Isaac Julian Rodriguez; Delilah Marie Vergara Sanchez, Saibien Isaiah Vergara, Adrian Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren Mia Rae Vergara, Alice Irene Sanchez, Payton Paz Sanchez, and Sebastian Isaiah Vergara. Additional children include Debbie George & family, Doug Rodriguez & family, Chris Rodriguez Jr. & family, Marie Knoldte & family. He was preceded in death by his son Mark Rodriguez. His surviving siblings are Alex and Leo Lopez, Vincent Lopez & family, Molly Meyer & family, Esther Rodriguez & family, Janie Rodriguez & family, and Lucy Rodriguez & family. Preceding him in death were his mother Mary Rodriguez, father Frank Gomez, and brothers Rocky, Frank, and Jesse Rodriguez.
Christopher will be remembered for his passion for life, his love for family and friends, and his dedication to helping others. He was a man of discipline and generosity, always ready to offer advice or assistance to those in need.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who join in celebrating Christopher's life. He will be deeply missed, and his legacy of hard work and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N Stemmons Fwy, Dallas, TX, on February 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Christopher, thank you for teaching us the value of hard work and respect. Your jokes, laughter, and guidance will never be forgotten. We love you always. "Take it like a man!"
