AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Oh, God of all comfort, I miss Chris. I miss him so much. As I sit here, there is a vacuum in my world, an empty space that he once occupied. The talk, the laughter, the many things we shared together – all of these have ended. And only the empty space remains.

Ease my aching heart with your gentle touch, O God, so that the pain lessons, the longing ceases, and the sorrow lightens. Let me feel your presence with me every moment of the time to come.

In my grief, dear God, let me know that eventually joy will come in the morning. There is joy in these moments as I thank you for Chris. Thank you for all he means to me. Thank you for the impact he made on the lives of others. Thank you for his life. Thank you that in the time of his death I can come to you for comfort. And now, dear God, as I begin this journey without him. I trust that you will be with me. Help me to rest in your unchanging love.

Chris and I spent many times together. We had some great trips on the Appomattox River with the rest of the crew. The time I spent with Chris when we traveled to Texas was some of the best times I ever had. We took every back road that exists I think we even made some on on the way from Charlottesville down to the Lone Star State. My heart goes out to you Pat for I know Chris spoke about you to me and kept me apprised of any new events. I cried that day you called. That did help a little. Ed

Dearest Pat,
You have my deepest sympathy at the loss of your wonderful husband and love, Chris.

Chris was a kind and caring person and will be missed by anyone whoever had the pleasure of getting to meet him.

I will always remember Chris stopping by the office and asking to see his "Bride" even after you had been married for some time to bring you some treats. You were and will always be his "Bride".

When we experienced heavy rains, I remember Chris making sure to warn me about all the low spots on the highway between Charlottesville and Nelson County.

Do take care of yourself.

Your friends,
Polly and Joe Johnson
