She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and giving nature touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born in Dallas, Texas on June 8, 1952, Danell was the daughter of Adrian Dunklin of San Antonio, Texas and the late Frances Dunklin Easterling. She was married to Richard A. Johnston on November 19, 1977, and together they built a home rooted in the Lord, filled with laughter and many cherished memories. Danell took immense pride in being a mother to her son Richard C. (Shayla) of Aledo, Texas; daughter Ashley (Lea) of Kansas City, Missouri; and was honored to be “Mimi” to Lila, Miller, Sophie, and Porter who brought her profound joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Clark Dunklin (Sandy) of Allen, Texas; Leslie Janovec (Jon) of San Antonio, Texas; her mother-in-law Joanna Johnston of Mesquite, Texas and many extended family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Danell dedicated much of her career to Texoma Entertainment and Palm Beach Tan where she found value in being an operations manager while coordinating support for new unit growth. She enjoyed working alongside colleagues and vendors to breathe new life into each community they served.
Outside of her professional life, Danell had a deep love for nature. She was an avid birdwatcher, especially fond of ducks and cardinals, and she was happiest when listening to the calming melodies of smooth jazz. Her love of growing house plants brought her peace and was a way she connected with God’s creation. She loved being a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pius X Catholic Church and found comfort in bringing the eucharist to those who were home bound.
