

Daniel Y. Cantu, age 86, passed away on July 15, 2025 in Princeton, Texas. He was born on November 23, 1938 in Floresville, Texas to Teodori Cantu and Margarita Yracheta. Daniel was raised in San Antonio, Texas and attended Boerne Middle School in 1952.
He married the love of his life, Susana M. Cantu, in 1958 and the couple had 4 children. He was a dedicated Mixer at Earthgrains where he worked for more than 38 years.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoyed traveling, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends, finding joy in both adventure and the simple pleasures of life.
His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and friendly soul who cared deeply for others, always putting people before himself. A devoted man of faith, he took his religious life seriously and was actively involved in church activities as a faithful Cursillista. Steadfast in prayer and trust in God, he inspired others to revere and worship the Lord through his quiet strength and unwavering example. He deeply cherished time spent with his family, especially enjoying gatherings and moments with his children and grandchildren who brought him great joy.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; his daughter, Delia Cantu; his granddaughter, Dominique Vega; and five brothers, Candelario, Narcisso, Jose, Richard and Rosendo.
Survived by: his wife, Susana M. Cantu; his children: Daniel Cantu Jr. (Blanca Leticia), Dannette Vega (Johnny), and Rolando Cantu (Leticia); One brother, Felix Valdez; and one sister, Magdalena Briones (Martin); grandchildren: Jamie Cantu (April), Jennifer Castrejon (Vianey), Jessica Gil (Mario), Rolando Cantu Jr., Amber Cantu, Brittany Vega, Liza Burger (Charles), Arthur Rangel, and Jessie “Dray” Silva; and 14 great grandchildren; One brother-in-law, Pete Martinez (Francis); One sister-in-law, Janie Martinez.
