

Daniel was known to many as Skip. He started his young life in Brenham, Texas, but moved around as a military dependent living at Lackland AFB San Antonio, Texas, Seward AFB Smyrna, Tennessee, and Hickman AFB Honolulu, Hawaii. He always said he had a great childhood and after graduating from Kaimuli High in Honolulu, he moved to Los Angeles to attend college. His work life began at CBS in the Graphic Arts Department doing photo reproduction and typesetting for various shows such as All In The Family and The Carol Burnett Show ,which he loved. Years later, he moved on to work for Exxon Mobile in Los Angeles as a Marketing Sales Rep. and later became a District Territory Manager in Dallas, Texas , where he retired in October of 2002 after 30 years.
Daniel is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Gwendolyn, and his parents. He is survived by his children, Angela Parish and Darren Parish; granddaughters Alexandria Parish and Zoe Castillo Parish; stepmother Mrs. Cleopatra Parish of Los Angeles; Mrs. Jessye Lee Guyton; Mrs. Alice Mae Fletcher; sister-in-law Elmere Farve of Bay of St. Louis, Mississippi; brother-in-law Alvin Smith of New Orleans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 18th, 2022, from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 19th, 2022, begins at 1:30pm at St. Monica Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road in Dallas. Entombment will follow at 3:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park's Mausoleum.
