Haley, M.D., at North Texas Infectious Diseases Consultants where he received treatment for 22 years, due to transplant complications; and Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas.
Danny, nor his doctors ever expected him to survive 23 years with his transplants, due to him being an insulin dependent diabetic since age 3 or 4 and on dialysis for 9 months prior to his transplants. He wasn’t even expected to live past the age of 8, but Danny always said, “God is watching over me and has blessed me with my family, my friends, and good doctors so that I can use my talents to go out and serve as a Christian while on this earth.”
Danny and his family are blessed to have a special friendship and offer their sincere thanks to: Rev. Luca of St. Augustine Catholic Church; Rev. Jet B. Garcia of St. Ann Catholic Church; the following former Priests at St. Augustine Catholic Church: Fr. Felix Vistal, Jr. now serving as a Chaplain for the VA; Fr. Luis Sierra; Fr. Anibal Adorno; Fr. Ely Monando; and Fr. Sohl.
He cherished his close relationship and numerous telephone conversations with Juanita “Juana” Lara; Alfredo “Freddy” Chavez; Michelle and her husband Alfred Franco; Joe Sereseroz; Santiago Zapata; Eddie Deleon; Humberto Chavarria; and Fr. Felix Vistal, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given for the construction of the new church at St. Augustine Catholic Church that Danny was involved in planning, payable to “Building in Faith” located at 1054 N. St. Augustine Drive, Dallas, Texas 75217 or contact the Church office at 214-398-1583 for further information.
Danny did not live to see the construction of the new parish, but he never gave up on the planning because he knew that the church needed more space, additional classrooms, office space, and parking, due to the overcrowding. It hurt him to see that the groups and CCD children were being turned away because of the lack of available rooms. Danny will be watching from heaven and smiling once the fundraising, construction, and development is complete, so that all current and future parishioners can continue practicing their faith.

Babe,
This was my last minute next to you physically, but I know that you will always be in my heart. It was so hard to let you go. On the way to the hospital you told me that you were tired of fighting to be here for everybody. I was selfish to encourage you to fight and not let you finish saying what you felt, but I knew that you were ready to be with your departed loved ones and God. I couldn’t bare us losing you, but God called you Home and you were ready. ✝️
I was blessed to have you as my husband. The kids and grandchildren miss you too and pray for you. We all have another Angel in heaven watching over us. Rest In Peace.
Love always,
Your Babe

Danny,
We visited Marina two days ago. We miss your smiling face every time we visited you but we rejoice that you are now resting and no longer in pain. We are so thankful for all the time we spent with you before you said your goodbye to go with our Heavenly Father. We shared a lot of great moments together, from birthday parties to a graduation, confirmation, 4th of July, St. Patties, pool parties, and the list goes on and on. You outlived many years what the doctors predicted but it was to our advantage because we got to enjoy the beautiful sole that you are. Marina is having a hard time without you Danny. I talk to her very often, she tells me she misses her babe 😪. But the beautiful thing she does is that she keeps you alive by sharing beautiful stories about you. I am trying my hardest to be there for her. I remind her that you were a great man that loved her so much and that she has nothing but great memories of you. And most importantly you are no longer suffering. You are now resting in peace. We love you and miss you dearly Danny! Love, Oscar & Martha

Danny was always nice, caring and understanding. He helped me and my kids out for the past couple of years more than he knew. Danny wasn't only my landlord, he was a great man. I remember Danny being on top of everything, a true businessman. When I first met Danny, I tried to call him Mr. Chavez and he said no, call me Danny, Mr. Chavez makes me feel old. Im thankful to have known him even for the short amount of time. I could tell Danny loved his wife and family. I know he will truly be missed. Heaven gained a true angel.

Danny,, We laid you to rest today. Brother-in-Law. You would be so proud of how beautiful everything was. Marina did her best to stay strong. She held up pretty good. You are now on your journey home to be with the Lord and all the angels in heaven. I pray that you watch over and guide us to be the kind of person that you were; Always faithful, kind and generous. RIP Danny.

Marina,
We were saddened to hear about Danny's passing. Although we didn't know him a long time we felt truly welcomed by both you and Danny every time we visited. We have beautiful and fun memories to cherish a lifetime. You all always went out of your way to make sure everyone was comfortable and felt welcomed. We are forever thankful for your friendship. It means a lot to us. All the wonderful things people say about Danny make my heart happy, but most of all I am happy to read about the love he had for our Lord. He was a faithful servant doing God's will here on earth; and for that I know that God has welcomed him into heaven with loving arms. I am also happy to read and see about how much he loved you and his family. His actions showed his true and caring heart. What an awesome man to call our friend. I'm just sad that we didn't get to spend more time with him here on earth but we look forward to the day that we can celebrate with him in paradise...Heaven. We love you and are a phone call away for whatever you need. Love RP & Sheila Nilsson

All the wonderful things people say about Uncle Danny is true. He is one of the greatest men I have ever known. His heart was pure and he loved no matter who you were. One of many memories that come to mind is when I was having a garage sale at Marina and Danny's house and Danny comes out and says he would give me $100 to get rid of everything and he would have a dump truck come pick it up and dump it. He tried keeping a straight face but then he started laughing. I will miss that sense of humor. He will always be remembered and missed. Thank you Uncle Danny for being the man you were. I love you!

One is my first recollection of Danny, was when he was trying to win my sister’s heart. He came over to my sister’s while the Cowboys were playing. That alone was point’s scored! Marina was even more important than the Cowboys to him. Even early on!
It was apparent what won Marina over once I got to know him better. It was his strong commitment to family, love, and most importantly, his faith in God. Because of that faith, life was an unchained melody for him and Marina. No challenge was too much for him, and her to overcome. They worked together through everything.
Danny, you will be missed. You’ll always be known as a caring person. One who put family above all else. RIP brother in law. Let the angel’s guide you home.❤️

Hi Uncle Danny, it’s me again... I read this today:
“So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.” Galatians 6:10
This reminds me of you so much. You always put others before yourself. I promise I will always try my best to do good by you and make you proud. I know you are in Heaven smiling down on us and I am blessed to have you as an angel.
“So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” John 16:22

So many to thank, but I would like to start with my sister Mary who has been with me since my Mom’s passing on 10/24/20. Now, she’s been watching me, even though she’s still broken hearted from the loss of our Mom and was trying to deal with her estate along with Nina, which came to a stop after Danny’s passing.
Thank you also to Danny’s family, my family, our grandchildren, and friends for being there for Danny and me. Danny and I were truly blessed to have so much love around us these past years.
I would also like to thank my former boss, Amy Witherite with the Witherite Law Group who helped me for the past 3 1/2 years, since Danny became sick from the sinus infection. She allowed me to work from home, until his condition worsened. Then, she encouraged me to take off work and care for him. Throughout, these past years Amy and my Witherite Family never forgot about Danny or myself. Amy would send us food and flowers, even though I was no longer her employee. Again, thank you so much Amy because this allowed me to spend the much needed time with Danny that meant so much to both of us.
May God continue to bless you’ll for your thoughtfulness and kindness. I will always love you’ll so much and words can’t describe my appreciation.
My final thanks to my Babe for giving me nothing but love and respect. Also, thanks Babe for the family and friends that we shared. You were truly a gift from heaven to us all. One day, we will all be together again sharing God’s glory. God bless and Rest In Peace Babe.

My Uncle Danny will be truly missed by Me and Alfred. I will always cherish our weekly phone calls to check on each other since we both had illnesses that we have dealt with for many years. I was always happy when we would get together for lunch or dinner to enjoy each other’s company. You always took the time to always make our summers in Lubbock fun and adventurous. We would always go to the record store to buy the most recent record that was released and listen to the music all night in your room and eat lots of junk food. Even our road trip from Dallas to Lubbock with the music loud, it definitely helped the 5 hour trip seem to be a little bit shorter. We could sit for hours and just talk about anything and everything. Thank you for being a huge part of our lives and until we meet again my dearest uncle. I Love you ❤️ and tell my mom that I miss her so much & love her.

Oh, Danny!
How I miss your phone calls. You always called me at least once a week, and your phone calls always helped to lift our spirits when we were down, to comfort each other when we were sad, to rejoice together when we were blessed, and to pray for each other. You never failed to asked about each member of my family and your sincere concern was always appreciated and needed.
Our conversations always ended with "I love You", and "God Bless You". I can hear you saying it to me in mind and my heart.
Baby Brother, you suffered through so much but you never stopped caring for your family, your friends and your church.
You are my inspiration and the memory of you will stay with me always.
I remember clearly when you were born, you had the most beautiful eyelashes and smile. You had determination then, and you carried it with you for your whole life.
Thank you for all you did for me, for your prayers, your concern, your respect and your love.
Love more and always,
Your sister,
Juanita (Juana)

Marina we are heartbroken over his passing, I remember all of the time we spent together working at the school on projects. I remember his dedication to the church and I drew on that to keep me going when I was so tired and disheartened. I looked at him as he powered through his own pain and took that as my inspiration. His race is done and he crossed the finish line. Good on you my Brother. Prayers to you and the family.

My heart is broken and I’m so confused because I don’t have my Babe here with me. It wasn’t hard to give my all to Danny because he had such a kind and generous heart and was never selfish. He will never be forgotten! He was a loving husband, father, and proud grandpa. He used his knowledge from the Marriage Encounter to never stay mad at each other. I’ll never forget his innocent look when he would blow me a kiss and tell me “I love you”. I’d turn around to look at him still mad, but after seeing his face I would smile. Then, he would laugh, and I usually forgot what we were mad about. Afterwards, he would say his famous line, “What are we going to eat”. It use to frustrate me when he would ask me this question everyday, but I would give the world to hear him ask me those famous words. I’ll also miss him calling me and leaving his short voice messages, “Where are you at...call me when you get this message”.
He always put his love for his family, children and grandchildren before himself. Xavier was blessed to have his Grandpa for so many years, but I know all of our grandchildren will always remember their grandpa because he was so loving, kind, and gentle. JD, Krystal, and Christopher were blessed to have such a blessed role model for their father. He loved Krystal and Christopher as if they were his own children.
Although my life has changed without my Babe, I have to remember what he repeatedly told me and the family, “We need to be ready for the day God calls us because if we live our life serving the Lord we will all be together in heaven one day”. I’m sure that Danny will be in heaven still doing his miracles to get us all to be practicing parishioners. I can’t wait to see my Babe’s smile and hear his laugh again. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and Grandpa. I will cherish every moment with him and I can’t wait until we meet again. May he Rest In Peace. God bless.
