

David Wayne Anderson, age 83, of Mesquite, Texas, entered his heavenly home on August 18, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1941, in Pacific, Missouri, to Claiborne Wayne Anderson and Evelyn Perralee Anderson.
David was raised in Pacific, Missouri, and later attended Oklahoma Baptist University. He went on to earn a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973, achieving the rank of Specialist 5 (T) and serving as a Chaplain’s Assistant. During his service, David used his musical gifts to sing in church services and to uplift and entertain fellow troops.
A man of great faith, creativity, and humor, David poured his heart into songwriting, storytelling, and bringing joy to others. He had a deep love for both music and ministry. Playing the piano, singing, and worshiping were central to his life. His original works reflected his passion, sensitivity, and devotion, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
David is survived by his daughter, Annalisa Anderson; his son, Chris Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Ashlie Anderson. He was a proud grandfather to Alexa, Teighlor, Jameson, Azlynn, Everly, and Weston, and a cherished great-grandfather to Adelina and Alanna. He is also survived by his dear and devoted friend, Carol Ellis; her two children, Adele and Matthew; and Adele’s children, Layla and Paxton.
David was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Evelyn Perralee and Claiborne Wayne Anderson; his brother, J.R. Anderson; and his sister, Luann Cash.
David’s life was a testament to kindness, faith, and the joy of sharing one’s gifts. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

A visitation for David will be held Friday, August 22nd, 2025 at 9:00am Grove Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75228 followed by a funeral service at 10:00am and reception.
