

David Robin Hankins, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 20, 1931, in England, Arkansas, to Carlisle Hankins and Geneva Moody Hankins, David later moved to Texas where he graduated from North Dallas High School.
In 1960, David married Peggy J. Fanning, and together they built a loving home and raised four children. He worked for many years as a salesman in women’s apparel at the Dallas Apparel Mart, where he was known for his warm personality and genuine rapport with clients.
David was a man of many joys. He loved to travel, spend quiet mornings fishing, and never missed a chance to cheer on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He had a wonderful singing voice, a sharp wit, and a great sense of humor that brightened every room he entered. David’s love for laughter and storytelling was one of his most cherished gifts to those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlisle and Geneva Hankins; his brothers Sonny Carlisle, George Hankins, and Joe Hankins; and his son, David Michael Hankins.
David is survived by his daughters: Patrice Hankins Boatright (Warren), Angela Hankins, and Lori Hankins Bason; and his beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth Boatright, David Boatright, Olivia Bason, and Margot Bason.
David’s life was marked by kindness, humor, and love for family. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
