

PACE, DAVID “LARRY,” 77, Dallas, went to heaven from complications of lung cancer on November 13, 2011. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on September 17, 1934. He was born to Ed and Mary Ita Pace. He graduated from Hillcrest High School where he was class favorite all four years, All-State Fullback and Homecoming King in 1953. He then went on to receive his Bachelor’s from East Texas State University in 1957 and his Masters of Liberal Arts from SMU in 1974. In 1969, he married his best friend Linda Lown. He started his teaching career at Burleson Elementary and then on to DeGoyler Elementary School. He finished his teaching career at Hillcrest High School in 1987 as a youth action advisor. He enjoyed his time at Lake Kiowa, his Tuesday golf games and Hillcrest alumni lunches. He was a charter member of Brookhaven Country Club and managed Franklin Field for numerous years, completing over 30 years with DISD.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Mary Ita Pace, daughter Mary Ita Pace and brother Eddie Pace. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 42 years, Linda J. Pace, son, Larry Pace, Jr., daughters, Melinda Boggs, husband Rick, Mychelle Alonso, husband Danny, Karrie Stallings, husband Bob, granddaughter, Stefanie Vasil, husband Bret, granddaughters Mary Ita Ashley, Cortney and Caitlyn Pace, Brianna Stallings, grandsons Chase McCullough, Beau Pace and Cody Alonso, brother Jim Pace and wife Janice, sister-in-law Suzanne Pace, sister-in-law Charlene Madrigal and husband Tim, many nieces and nephews, many friends, and his beloved dog Jake.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Mausoleum, burial immediately following. Visitation, Thursday, November 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
