

David Wilmoth was born January 5, 1935 in Dallas, Tx to Allwyn Nathan Wilmoth, Sr and Madge (Walker) Wilmoth. He passed away August 14, 2025 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 90. David was one of eight children (6 boys and 2 girls).
He grew up in Dallas (Oak Cliff) and attended Sunset High School (Class of 1954) where he met and later married the love of his life Mary “Joyce” Dial. David and Joyce were married 69 years until her death in 2023.
David began a career working with Caterpillar tractors at Darr Equipment Company in Irving, Tx where he worked for nearly 40 years. He started working there right after high school as a mechanics helper. His skills, experience, and dedication afforded him many opportunities to moved up within the company. During his tenure his positions including, Field Service Rep, Training Instructor, Service Manager, Waco Branch Manager, and Regional Sales Manager.
David and Joyce raised their family in Oak Cliff and later spent many of their retirement years in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas to be closer to their grandchildren.
David and Joyce were long time members of the First United Methodist of Dallas where they regularly participated in the Double-Aires class activities.
David was preceded in death by his wife Mary “Joyce” Wilmoth. He is survived by daughter Laurie Wilmoth; son Kevin Wilmoth (wife Kim); grandsons Logan Wilmoth and Brooks Wilmoth (wife Brittany); great grandson Graham Wilmoth; great granddaughter Collins Ann Wilmoth; sisters Judy Vincent and Glenda Horton (husband King); brother Tom Wilmoth (wife Darlene). His brothers Allwyn Jr, Lilburn (Bubba), Bryan, and Steve proceeded him in death.
The family would like to acknowledge caregiver Yodit Yimer for the dedication, kindness, and overall care that she provided to both David and Joyce during the past several years.
