After graduating from DeSoto High School, she went on to study at the University of North Texas where she received a degree in Art History. Following her graduation, she started her dream job as an Interior Designer at Bev Heil & Associates.
She met her future husband, René Kiehn, in Germany in 1991 and they were married in 1996. DeeDee’s true joys in life were being a loving wife, daughter, and devoted mother to her sons, Sebastian and Nicholas. DeeDee loved socializing with her large circle of friends. She took utmost care to stay in touch with existing friends and to always cultivate new friendships during her journey this side of Heaven. Her servant heart truly made others feel known and loved. Her panache and classy style was unique. What was most endearing to her family and friends was her deep faith and trust in the Lord, her exuberance for life, and her joy and compassion for others. It was with this vigor that she actively participated in many bible studies and faith-based initiatives. She was an active member of Park Cities Presbyterian Church since 2001. Her favorite bible verses were 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, Psalms 46:10 and Romans 8:18 and 8:38-39.
She was preceded in death by her step-sister Renae Howell Falletto, her step-father Hobie Howell, and grandparents Louise and Robert Phillips.
She is survived by her husband René, her sons Sebastian and Nicholas, her mother Diane Howell, her step-brother Jeff Howell, aunt Mary Slaughter (John), aunt Sharon Quirk, aunt Melynda Diamond (Philip), uncle Roger Strain (Kathy) and many beloved cousins.
DeeDee began her valiant fight with the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in December 2021. Her courage and tenacity will be remembered by all who knew her. A heartfelt thank you goes to the cancer team at UTSW and all the loving friends that supported her through this journey.
DeeDee was a treasure. She was cherished and will be sorely missed until we meet her again in Heaven.
