Dennis Manuel Rodarte was born October 21, 1957 in Dallas, Texas. He has joined our Savior in Heaven and is now reunited with his loving parents, Alice and Manuel Rodarte. Dennis worked with his family at their family restaurant and managed Rodarte and Vivero's Blue Moon Café. Dennis never missed an opportunity to spend his spare time solving crossword puzzles. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan and a sports car enthusiast. Dennis never met a stranger. He had a wide circle of friends, characters and acquaintances from all walks of life. Throughout his life he was never without his beloved canine companions.
Dennis was a dedicated boxing coach. He took his boxers to Local, State, National and Olympic level tournaments. Dennis was the first Dallas coach to send his boxer, Luis Yanez, to the Olympics held in Beijing, China, 2008. He was generous with his words, praise, time, experience and advice. His devotion extended beyond the ring. He instilled team work, discipline and hard work. Always making sure it was fun. The OakCliff Masons recognized him for his community works. For many years he looked forward to the Dallas Golden Gloves Tournament and was proud to be the announcer of the Dallas Golden Gloves. Dennis always had hope, inspired confidence, and never stopped dreaming Big. He had a spirit full of curiosity and adventure. We loved him for his dedication, honesty, compassion and love.
He is survived by his siblings, Gerry Vivero (Doris), Gene Vivero (Janie), and Gayle Beverly Rodarte and her daughter and his niece, Kimberly Moreno. He is survived by his girlfriend Sylvia Dominguez and her daughters (Maria, Patricia, Adeline). Also surviving him are his nieces, nephews and their spouses, Sophia Pellegrini (Mike), Gena Egelston (John), Amy Barrera (Luis), Chris Vivero (Rose), Gerry Vivero (Lynette), Pilar Vivero (Lee). Also surviving him are his beloved grandnieces and grandnephews, Angela, Celia and Bobby Pellegrini, Russell and Andrew Egelston, Raquel and Luis Barrera, Gabriel Zico, Michael and Layla Vivero, Emily and Lauren Vivero.
We will greatly miss our beloved Dennis. He will live in our hearts and memories forever.
The family would like to thank all who have shared their memories and experiences with our beloved brother, uncle, friend and coach.
