

Don was born on October 1, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas to Byron P. Pattie and Mary Sue McDonald Pattie. He grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal High School in 1954.
Don served in the United States Air Force as a radar operator stationed in Wisconsin, Japan and Korea. After his time in the Air Force, Don attended the University of Texas at Arlington majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
After 28 years as VP of Design & Construction with major design-build mechanical contractors in Ft. Worth, Dallas, San Diego and St. Louis, Don finished his career with Turner Construction Company in New York City and Dallas.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Mary Sue McDonald Pattie, his brothers, George Preston Pattie and Lyle Byron Pattie, and his sister, Ilene Durkalski. He is survived by his wife, Mary McCluney Pattie of Garland, Texas, his children, Donald Richard Pattie, Jr. and his wife Estella Gore, of Sugar Land, Texas, Michael Bentley Pattie and his wife Elise Feder of Brewster, New York, his four grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Eliza and Chet, and several nieces and nephews.
Don was a member of Lake Pointe Church-White Rock Campus where a Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth.
