Doris Virginia Baxter

Doris Virginia Morris was born in Elm Mott, Texas, on July 12, 1925, to Harry Allen Morris and Virginia “Jennie” Peters Morris.

Doris was married to Roy Eugene Baxter on November 12, 1948. They had three children -- Roy Keith, Debra Ann and Kathy Jo.

Doris worked as a bookkeeper for B&B Builders from 1970 until she retired. She was also actively involved in her church, First Assembly of God, Mesquite, until she was no longer able to attend. She spent the last six years at Mesquite Tree Nursing Center.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Roy Baxter; her parents, Harry and Jennie Morris; her brother, Harry Lee Morris; and her sister, Christine Davidson.

Doris is survived by son Keith Baxter and wife, Sue; daughter, Debbie Bogle and husband, Billy; daughter Kathy Miller and husband, Markus; grandchildren Paul Granberry; Tracy Granberry; Darbi Glassburn and husband, Cory; Celeste Youngblood; Clifton Baxter and wife, Marissa; Nicholas Youngblood; and great-grandchildren, Addison Granberry, Maverick Glassburn, Landry Glassburn, and Dakota Baxter. She is also survived by many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Grove Hill. Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Grove Hill with Dr. Marcus Alexander officiating. Committal will follow at Grove Hill following the ceremony.
