Dwayne ("Pinky”) Collins Streetman was born in Royse City, Texas on July 7, 1936 to Homer and Reba Streetman. He passed away at his home on Saturday, December 1, 2012. A graduate of The University of North Texas, Dwayne was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and active in their Alumni. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education and worked for the DISD for 34 years, retiring in 1991 from the High School for Health Professions. Pinky was an avid sports fan and loved the game of golf. For the last several years he was an active member of the Dallas Elks Lodge #71. He never met a stranger and, during a typical conversation, would ask them where they grew up, if they had children and lastly, if they played golf. His weekly golf game with friends was a special time for him. Pinky will be missed by a multitude of friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra; children, Laura Boyer, Thomas Streetman and wife Angie, Amy Van Haasen and husband Lance, and Priscilla Tennison; grandchildren, Rodney, Joseph, Colin, Savannah, Catherine and Seth; sisters Doris Harrell and Billye Leathers; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane in Dallas, with Bruce Norman officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
