Edward Roland Wright, 91, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Plano, Texas. Born to the late Charlie and Mamie Wright, Edward lived a long and distinguished life defined by a sharp mind, a strong work ethic, and a deep devotion to his family.
A man of firm faith, Edward was a dedicated Christian who lived his life guided by the principles of the Gospel. He took great pride in teaching these values to his children, ensuring that honesty, kindness, and faith remained the cornerstone of their lives.
Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Wright, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they built a foundation of love and partnership that remains an inspiration to all who knew them.
His professional journey was as varied as it was successful. He spent many years as a skilled printer and was a familiar face across the Dallas area as a dedicated Pepperidge Farm distributor. He later transitioned into real estate, where his integrity helped many families throughout the Dallas area find their homes. Even in his later years, Edward remained intellectually sharp as a stock trader, keeping a close eye on the markets and always ready for the next opportunity.
Outside of his professional life, Edward stayed active and engaged with his community. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed many quiet moments by the water, and he particularly valued his routine of going to the recreation center across the street, 5 days a week like clock work where he enjoyed the fellowship and the chance to stay moving. His 91 years were a testament to the power of staying curious and engaged with the world.
In addition to his wife Shirley and his parents, Charlie and Mamie Wright, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Wright. He is survived by his two sons, Mark Wright (Michelle) and Steve Wright (Robin); his grandchildren, Andrew Roman Wright and Megan Wright Miller (Alex); and his great-grandchildren, Chloe Miller and John-Louis Miller; along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever carry his legacy forward.
