Dr. Edwin Snow Jackson, 93, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025. Born in Vick, Bradley County, Arkansas on December 6, 1931, to Ed and Sarah Lou Ella Jackson.
He leaves his beloved wife, Polly Jackson; five children, Frank Jackson (Karen), Hank Jackson (Michelle), Gretchen Ivey (Don), Gwen Brittain, and Gaylia Campbell (Paul); ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He received his EdD and his MA from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and his BA from the University of Arkansas in Monticello.
He had a distinguished career in education, teaching and administrating in Hermitage, Star City, El Dorado and Little Rock. He retired as Assistant to the Superintendent in the Little Rock School System.
He held numerous professional leadership roles and became one of two candidates for President of the National Principals' Organization. He served as President of the Arkansas Elementary Principal's Association and President of the SCA Association which included eight states. In 1985, he was named Arkansas Elementary Principal of the Year and the National Outstanding Elementary Principal of the Year. Quoting Bill Clinton, past governor of Arkansas, "he has been a leader in our efforts to improve educational opportunities for the children of our state."
Ed was a man who loved his career, but most of all, he loved his wife and family, of whom he was very proud.
