Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on April 28, 1943 to Henry Walter Shimkoski and Theresa Ann (DiLiddo) Shimkoski. Elaine attended St. Stephen’s Catholic School in Worcester before studying education at Worcester State College.
Elaine was deeply devoted to her faith and family, and nothing brought her greater joy than being surrounded by her grandchildren. A lifelong educator, she served as a teacher for 43 years, shaping and inspiring the minds of countless students. She was always right, undefeated at Scrabble, and never shy about reminding us that she’d love us forever.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Theresa Shimkoski, and is survived by her husband, James Noe, brother Dennis Shimkoski (Colleen), children, Erin Piwowarski (David), Kevin Piwowarski Shields (Elisabeth), Sharon Piwowarski (Cori), and Ryan Piwowarski, stepchildren Paulette Noe, Tina Runnels (Jimmy), and Tracy Buckner (Dale), grandchildren, Teresa Slettebo, Emma Slettebo, Katherine Piwowarski Shields, Meara Piwowarski, Annabel Clack, Nicholas Piwowarski Shields, Nina Piwowarski Shields, and Josie Duncan.
