Elizabeth Ann Jansen

Elizabeth Ann Jansen, 69, of Dallas passed away on Nov. 28, 2010. Elizabeth was born on Dec. 23, 1940 to Cecilia and John Hensen in Paris, AR. She graduated from St. Scholastica Academy in Fort Smith, AR in 1958. On Dec. 30, 1961, she married James (Jim) Jansen at St. Boniface Church in Fort Smith. Elizabeth and Jim settled in Dallas in 1967. Elizabeth was a 43-year member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was active in St. Rita’s Circle, the women’s bowling league and as a volunteer at St. Patrick School. She is survived by her husband Jim and six children: Carole Post and husband, John, of Evans, GA; David Jansen of Fort Worth; Sandra Loshelder and husband, Eric, of Flower Mound; Steven Jansen and wife, Heather Marks, of Jackson, WY; Kathleen Jansen of Irving; and Jennifer Kiertscher and husband, Jeff, of San Antonio; grandchildren Krisanne, Ashley, and Lauren Post; Rebecca, Julia and Killian Loshelder; Megan Kiertscher; and Asa Jansen; sisters Mary Ahlert and husband, Gene, of Fort Smith, AR; and Patricia Lucy and husband, Jack, of Siloam Springs, AR, and numerous extended family members. Visitation 6-8 pm Wednesday, Dec.1, 2010 at the funeral home with a rosary at 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the St. Patrick Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
