After a short battle with cancer, Elizabeth Orlowski passed away on March 26th, 2017 in Dallas at the age of 72. She leaves behind her children, Michelle and Marcus. Marcus is married to Tina and together they have two children, Henry and Cayman. Elizabeth is the Aunt to Mark and Aaron Frydman. Aaron is married to Regina, and their children are Adam, Sarah, Ella and Gabriel. Elizabeth also had a very special lifelong friend, Josef Bucher.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henryk Orlowski, her sister Greta Frydman, parents Pinkus and Felecia Hammer along with many other family members and friends.
She was a Licensed Physical Therapist and practiced in Dallas, Texas for over 45 years. She studied in Europe and attained a very high level of education. She immigrated with her parents, sister, parents, and husband Henryk to America in 1968. Henryk was a professional soccer player who eventually opened up his own engineering firm. He was an entrepreneur and created a few businesses in Dallas including a day care center, The Peanut Gallery, and also created Dallas Physical Therapy Center that was in business for over 20 years that Elizabeth owned and operated. When Elizabeth and family lost Henryk to a brain tumor in 1986, the family was broken. They eventually were able to grieve, glue the family back together and create a legacy.
Marcus and Michelle grew up to be beautiful and giving adults. Josef, a longtime family friend has been by their side for over 3 decades supporting and caring for the family. The family has been through many trials and tribulations throughout the years, but have always looked to the Jewish faith to see them though and have remained exceptionally close. After retiring from Dallas Physical Therapy Center, Elizabeth has spent almost a decade working for the family home health care agency, Higher Standards Home Health where she found her true passion in caring for home bound senior patients. Her unique skills and her passion to heal became her glory. She was the most thoughtful and giving woman. If you needed, she would provide selflessly and endlessly. Her other passion were her grandchildren. Henry and Cayman brought such joy to her life from the moment they each entered this world and Bubbie was the boys’ ray of sunshine. They had quite a bond spending time together. They always begged to have Bubbie to come over Friday nights for Shabbat and the boys loved performing magic for her and of course pranks and practical jokes. They always kept her smiling and laughing! She was an amazing and unrelenting mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend to many people and her special touch in your life should be held close to your heart. In her last few months she battled cancer and she tried so hard to fight and win, but eventually succumbed to the disease on Sunday, March 26th, 2017 at 4pm in the afternoon. She went peacefully and without pain and she would want all of you to know how much she appreciates and loves you all. May you watch over us all Elizabeth and as little Henry would say, “ You are now finally reunited with your Henryk”. Rest in Peace Bubbie! Funeral service will be at Sparkman\Hillcrest Funeral Home on Friday, March 31st, at 10:00am with burial to follow at Shearith Israel Cemetery.
