My heartfelt condolences to all of Ester’s loving family. She was my fellow Burbanker, along with Adelaide, Mary and all the others during those unforgettable 60’s years. We didn’t remain close except for occasional long-distance e-mails so I thank  you, Ester’s family, for sharing all those wonderful pictures and memories.  May sweet  Ester rest in the glorious peace of heaven.

Easter was our neighbor on Eldorado St., in San Antonio. She and her family lived on the way to church, and I was always looking to catch a glimpse of her and her sisters. Later on, after our high school years, we would go listen to jazz on Sunday night. I've got nothing but good memories  of her. May Ester Rest in Peace!

Grandma always made it apparent that she truly tried to enjoy every moment possible, and it shows in every picture that you’ll see of her. 

She never hesitated to spend a moment and enjoy the little things. I’ll miss her by my side and having the opportunity to share a photo with her. They say a photo speaks 1000 words I think hers radiates more than that , countless even…

This house has so many memories for so many people. It represents a successful life and a beautiful one. This place was a sanctuary for family, friends and even animals. It provided me a place to play to cry to feel safe with my grandmother’s love. I will be in forever and her debt for the kindness and values that I gained while living with her in this beautiful home.

My grandmother was one of the best people to walk this earth. She always had such a strong sense of mission and purpose, but never lost her playful side.  She was the type of person to feed the homeless and take care of her neighborhood strays. She cared deeply about her family and community. 

One of my earliest memories was going to see Star Wars with her when Episode I came out. We must have seen that movie at least 10 times in theaters, just because it was what I wanted. She could barely afford it but she always found a way. Weekends with her were always an escape from the harsh realities of life. Those small acts of kindness meant so much to the people she impacted. I hope she knows that she made a difference in this world. 

She was a mother, mentor, and, most importantly, a best friend before anything else. She is already and forever will be missed dearly.

Ester,my sister,I miss you soo much,I think of all our childhood memories and our teenage years and the many things we did together growing up.How dad would give us some money and we'd bus it down town to shop and stop and eat at the Kress store or Coney Island for hot dogs.How we'd go to all the dances but only where Sonny and the Sunliners,or Royal Jesters played.When we became the Road Ace Dolls a car club when hardly anyone had a car.How we'd take turns sneaking in and climbing thru the bath room windows because mom had locked the door because we were not home by twelve.Then I met Paul and he'd pick up from school and you and all your friends piled up in his car, luckily it was a big white Oldsmobile, soo everyone fit.There was your friends who became my friends, Adelaide, Dolores, Mary Vasquez and some times, our sister Oralia would hop in.Paul has one very special memory of Ester, he came by to pick me up for a date and the song, "DANCING IN THE Street " was playing on his car radio and you, Ester came out down our front side walk dancing to it.As our lives went on and our children had their families we had our long phone conversations about everything under the sun.We cried, we laughed, we vented and advised each other.There were just too many many memories to list.My sister,your were a great mom and great grandmom.I will miss you, your voice,your kindness, generosity and your laughter.You will no longer have any fear, tears or worries, because you are in the loving arms of JESUS. P.S.Paul always favored you because he felt you were always on his side and he'd tell you that you were his favorite sister in law and you'd give a big smile and laugh.We both miss you soo much.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Ester S. Benavides.

Fourteen years ago, I was working at a chiropractic office when I first met Ester, who was a legal assistant at David Law Firm. Even then, she was always kind, loving, and supportive.

When I later opened my own office, she continued to encourage me and cheer me on. She always had the warmest smile and the happiest spirit. I truly admired the passion she had for helping her clients she loved what she did, and it showed in the way she cared for others.

I will always cherish visiting her and David. She will be deeply missed, and I am so grateful to have known her.
