Florentino Peña Galván

Con profundo amor y gratitud a Dios, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Florentino Peña Galván, quien partió a la presencia del Señor el 18 de diciembre de 2025, a la edad de 85 años, en Dallas, Texas.

Florentino nació el 3 de octubre de 1940 en Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, México, hijo de Ricardo Peña Hernández y Dolores Galván. Fue criado en México, donde desde muy temprana edad aprendió el valor del trabajo, la responsabilidad y la vida en el campo.

Desde los siete años, Florentino ya demostraba su carácter trabajador. Tenía su propio caballo con montura y salía a cuidar entre 25 y 30 vacas en los terrenos frente a la curva. Más adelante, cuando su padre vendió el ganado, se dedicaron a la crianza de cabras, llegando a cuidar mil, quinientas propias y quinientas junto a su tío. Estas vivencias marcaron profundamente su amor por el rancho, los animales y la vida sencilla, pasión que conservó toda su vida.

Florentino compartió su vida con su esposa amada por 55 años, Concepción Martínez Peña, en una historia de amor marcada por la constancia y la ternura. Durante cinco años de noviazgo, Florentino le escribió hasta tres cartas por semana, acumulando más de cien cartas de amor, testigos silenciosos de un romance paciente y profundo. Se llamaban con cariño: él a ella “Prieta”, y ella a él “Pedazo” o “Prieto”, palabras sencillas que encerraban toda una vida de amor compartido. Concepción fue el gran amor de su vida. En 1970, unieron sus vidas en matrimonio, construyendo un hogar basado en el amor, la paciencia y el compromiso, un lazo que se mantuvo firme por 55 años.

Antes de este matrimonio, Florentino tuvo a su hijo mayor, Florentino “Tino” Peña.

Florentino fue un hombre trabajador y comprometido. Se desempeñó en el área eléctrica y se retiró de Alman Electric, donde trabajó por más de 15 años, siendo reconocido por su responsabilidad y ética laboral.

En su tiempo libre, disfrutaba profundamente del rancho familiar, la cacería y la pesca, actividades que reflejaban su conexión con la naturaleza y sus raíces.

Será recordado como un hombre de gran corazón, generoso, amoroso y profundamente familiar. Le encantaba reunir a la familia, compartir comidas caseras, contar historias y disfrutar de las vacaciones familiares en la playa, creando recuerdos que hoy son tesoros.

Florentino era una persona muy carismática y humorística, conocido por sus dichos y su facilidad para hacer reír. Muchos lo recuerdan con cariño como “El Tío Tino”, nombre por el que era ampliamente conocido en Anáhuac, Nuevo León.

Le preceden en la muerte sus padres, Ricardo y Dolores Peña, y sus hermanos Rogelio Peña y Ricardo Peña.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa Concepción Martínez Peña; sus hijos Florentino “Tino” Peña, Juan Pedro Peña, Connie Peña Alcorta, Rebeca Peña, José Florentino Peña y Liliana Peña Salinas; sus 15 nietos y 8 bisnietos; así como tres yernos, tres nueras, y demás familiares y amigos que hoy lloran su partida, pero celebran una vida llena de amor y significado.

Aunque hoy sentimos profundamente su ausencia, su legado de amor, trabajo, humor y familia vivirá por siempre en quienes lo conocieron y amaron.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo en la Capilla del Norte (dentro del mausoleo), ubicada en 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75220. La velación será el 28 de diciembre de 2025, de 12:00 pm a 3:00 pm. El funeral será el 29 de diciembre de 2025, a las 11:00 am. El sepelio sera en el cementerio Calvary Hill Cemetery a las 12:00 pm.

Se les extiende una invitación a la comida después del entierro ubicada en 5619 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229.

With deep love and gratitude to God, we announce the passing of Florentino Peña Galván, who went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025, at the age of 85, in Dallas, Texas.

Florentino was born on October 3, 1940, in Anáhuac, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Ricardo Peña Hernández and Dolores Galván. He was raised in Mexico, where from a very young age he learned the values of hard work, responsibility, and life in the countryside.

By the age of seven, Florentino already showed a strong work ethic. He had his own horse and saddle and cared for 25 to 30 cows in the fields near the curve. Later, when his father sold the cattle, the family raised goats, caring for as many as one thousand, half their own and half together with his uncle. These early experiences deeply shaped his lifelong love for ranch life, animals, and simple living.

Florentino shared his life with his beloved wife of 55 years, Concepción Martínez Peña, in a love story marked by devotion, patience, and tenderness. During five years of courtship, Florentino wrote her up to three letters per week, accumulating more than one hundred love letters, silent witnesses to a patient and enduring romance. They affectionately called each other by nicknames: he called her “Prieta,” and she lovingly called him “Pedazo” or “Prieto,” simple words that carried a lifetime of shared love. Concepción was the great love of his life. In 1970, they were married and built a home founded on love, patience, and commitment—a bond that remained strong for 55 years.

Before this marriage, Florentino had his eldest son, Florentino “Tino” Peña.

Florentino was a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked in the electrical field and retired from Alman Electric, where he spent more than 15 years, known for his strong work ethic and integrity.

In his free time, he most enjoyed the family ranch, hunting, and fishing, reflecting his deep connection to nature and his roots.

He will be remembered as a man with a big heart—generous, loving, and deeply devoted to his family. He loved bringing the family together, sharing home-cooked meals, telling stories, and enjoying family trips to the beach, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Florentino was charismatic and humorous, known for his sayings and his ability to make others laugh. He was affectionately known as “Tío Tino” in Anáhuac, Nuevo León, a name many will remember him by.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Dolores Peña, and his brothers Rogelio Peña and Ricardo Peña.

He is survived by his beloved wife Concepción Martínez Peña; his children Florentino “Tino” Peña, Juan Pedro Peña, Connie Peña Alcorta, Rebeca Peña, José Florentino Peña, and Liliana Peña Salinas; his 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, and many other relatives and friends who mourn his passing while celebrating a life filled with love and meaning.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, hard work, humor, and family will live on forever.

The funeral services will be held at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Cemetery (inside the mausoleum), 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220. The visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00, followed by the burial. A reception will be hosted following the burial at 5619 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75229.
