Frances Clark Graham, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on August 11, 2016 at the age of 90 years old. Frances was born in Garland, Texas, as the only child, to parents John B. Abbott and Lillian Omah Jarnigin Long on November 15, 1925. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, and attended Crozier Technical High School of Dallas. While growing up in Dallas, her family lived near Old City Park and she always told stories of roller skating in that park. Another one of the stories she always told was about the red horse on top of the tallest building in Dallas, and how she would look out her window at night and watch the red horse turn and this would help her to fall asleep.
Frances married Jesse Riddle and had three wonderful children; Sharon, Billy, and Carol. Later while her children were young, Frances met and married Thomas M. Clark. They were married for 46 wonderful years. During this time, Frances worked as a record clerk for the Dallas Police Department where she retired after 30 years. A few years after Thomas passed away, Frances met and married J.B. Graham; but sadly the marriage lasted for only 10 months.
As an adult, Mom/Nana loved to cook, do arts and crafts, and read her bible; which she once said that she read her bible six times from cover to cover and more times than you could count just opening her bible and reading from it nightly. She also loved to collect any newspaper articles about Dallas, especially about the red horse on top of the mobil building.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian, and her spouse’s Thomas Clark and J.B. Graham. Frances is survived by her children, Sharon Brown, Billy Riddle and Carol Drummond; and grandchildren, Howard and Don Fain, Jerry Brown, Sheri Beall, John and Chris Smith; and many extended great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Monday evening, August 15, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. The funeral service will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Grove Hill Funeral Home, with burial at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S. Hwy 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
