

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Frances Marian Tolbert Morris, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She passed with family by her side on February 4, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. We are at peace knowing her body and mind are healed as she is reunited with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Born in her parent’s home in Weldon, Texas on Nov. 26, 1940, to Jack Marion and Ella Mae Shiflett Tolbert, she was one of four children. Her first job after high school was with American National Insurance Company. She met a tall lanky West Texas boy while working there, Loyd Dean Morris. Later in her professional life, Fran was employed in various aspects of the Texas oil industry, and spent her time in Galveston, Houston, and Dallas. In her younger years Fran was an avid bowler and regularly won the day for her team. She later became a devout Catholic, giving countless hours to the church. Fran volunteered her time to serve the community and areas abroad with many trips including France, multiple trips to the Holy Land, Spain, Turkey and Italy. Throughout all her years, Fran’s faith and commitment to the church made her a regular figure at services, charitable events, and church socials. Fran’s life and generosity influenced the wellbeing of her friends, family, and church community. She will be deeply missed by all.
Fran leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Father Loyd Dean Morris, a resident of Frisco, Texas and her brother Chet Tolbert and wife Betty of Tomball, TX. She is also survived by her two sons, Gregory Scott and wife Kerri of Plano, and Grant Lee and wife Tina residing in Stuttgart, Germany. Her four grandchildren, Molly, Cooper, Claire, and Carson as well as two great-grandchildren, Ava and Evan, will all miss her dearly. She is also survived by sister in law Donna Morris, many nieces, nephews, and cousins who brought much joy to her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Ella Mae, her brother, Arthur Mack Tolbert, and her sister and brother in law, Gladys Tolbert and Johnny Woodard, and her brother in law, Don Morris.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10 from 1-2pm, the Celebration of Life Mass will follow at 2pm. All services and burial at Calvary Hill Chapel & Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to the Dementia Society of America, Catholic Pro-Life Community or the charity of your choice.
