Born to Carlos and Alicia Davila Wilches, Frances’ story will guide her children, grandchildren, and their grandchildren for generations to come.
Surrounded by her loving parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts, she was the apple of everyone’s eye as the first child of Alicia. Later, Frances would be joined by her brothers, Carlos, Adolfo, and Marty, and her youngest sibling, her sister, Rita whom she loved so dearly.
In her childhood, Frances often spent time enjoying the greatest affection of her Abuelita Juanita Longoria Davila. Frances made her Abuelita incredibly proud when she was crowned queen of our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in 1968 at the age of fifteen.
She was the first woman in her family to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserve – where she proudly served and prepared herself to bear arms and protect the country she loved.
Frances experienced great challenges, yet she broke through every barrier in her way with her tenacious spirit, a tremendous work ethic, and hard-core determination. As a young mom, Frances juggled three part-time positions with the federal government until she attained a full-time position in the Food Safety and Inspection Service’s financial services operations at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Dallas, Texas.
The greatest loves of Frances’s life were her daughters, Gina and Stephanie. Every opportunity and challenge she accepted had Gina and Stephanie in mind and in her heart so that she could provide them with the best of life. In recognition of her knowledge, skill, and success, Frances was offered and accepted a promotion with the Service at its Headquarters in Washington, DC. So, when they were fifteen and seven, Frances’ promotion at USDA would take all of three of them to Washington, D.C.-to a new life.
At Headquarters, Frances was recognized as an expert in interpreting and implementing the federal government’s complex laws and regulations relating to the relocation of Service’s employees nationwide. She brought great honor to her family and received numberous awards during her federal service. During this time, she would often work a second job to help others in our family.
She earned a degree in Paralegal Studies from Northern Virginia Community College and studied at George Mason University even while maintaining a demanding position at USDA. She was kind and did nice things for others without ever expecting anything in return. Her generous spirit and compassion were unmatched and if you knew and loved Frances, well then you experienced help, hospitality and her love.
Frances was adventurous and fun-loving-just ask one of her grandkids. She lived life to the fullest and was overjoyed to take them everywhere-be it for a cone of ice cream or on a Disney cruise and to summer resorts.
Frances ran the race of life while keeping her eyes on the prize of eternal life. She was always focused and dedicated to her ultimate destination with Jesus Christ accompanied by an army of angels– now today she wears her eternal crown. She has been reunited with many beloveds who preceded her in the transition to eternal life, grandparents Arturo and Juanita Davila, father Carlos Wilches, Tios Fred Davila and Johnny Davila, Tia Maria Elena (Mary Helen) Davila Cedillo, beloved brother, Adolph Wilches.
Frances is survived by her mother Alicia Davila, tias Frances, Anita, Joe, Paul & Yolanda and Jesse & Anita Davila; siblings Carlos and Josie Wilches, Marty and Cindy Wilches and Rita and Richard Flores and nephews and nieces, Sofia, Carlos Jr, Veronica, Adolph, Marty, Roman, Jade and Mikey. Frances also had numerous cousins and loyal friends.
Frances’ daughters, Gina and Stephanie now carry on the beautiful legacy of their mom. Frances was simply the best mom, best mother-in-law, best grandmother, best godmother, and best friend. They all will forever hold Frances in their hearts. In return, Frances will wrap her precious family Gina Ruiz Everette and Darren Everette, Michael Rene Ruiz, Gabriel Lawrence Everette, Sierra Caprice Everette, Stephanie Nazar and Monty Nazar, Sieana Patrice Coger, Ilyas Adrian Nazar and Serena Elena Nazar in her love forever.
Rest in Eternal Grace, Frances.
