

Fred was born in Dallas, TX on May 18, 1927 and passed away on October 4, 2015. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1944, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and graduated from SMU in 1949. Fred was a member of Pleasant Grove First Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense as an auditor in 1982. He owned and operated Fritz’s Picture Framing on Greenville Ave for 40 years. He expanded the company to a second location in Casa Linda Plaza, which was operated by his wife, Jean, for 14 years. In 1986, he opened a wholesale picture frame business, FPF Moulding, which is currently operated by his sons. Fred enjoyed hunting whitetail deer on a 3,500-acre ranch in Uvalde, TX. In addition to being an avid bowler, he was also a member of the SMU Mustang Club. He raised cattle on a 300-acre ranch in East Texas where he planned to build a home and move before his health began to decline. Fred is survived by his wife Jean Davis Wolff, whom he married on May 26, 1950 and 3 sons, Fred Jr., Jim, and Steve, a brother Ed Wolff, extended family members and a host of good friends. The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Manchester Place and Hospice Compassus for their excellent care.
